When I forgot the tip on a pizza delivery and saw the driver's face
I ordered pizza for a game night with friends. When the delivery guy came, I was busy setting up and paid the exact amount on the app. He handed over the pizza with a quiet thanks and left fast. My friend said out loud that I didn't tip, and the room got quiet. I felt awful and ran outside to give him cash, but his car was gone. That moment made me think about how tips are part of their job. Now I set a default tip on delivery apps every time I order. You should too to avoid that sick feeling and help out the worker.

Heard delivery drivers rely on tips to make ends meet.

Isn't it crazy how tips make or break a delivery driver's day? I once paid a driver with a bunch of loose coins because I had no bills, and I still feel awful about it. It really highlights how messed up it is that their pay isn't enough to live on. I do my best to tip more now, but sometimes my own funds are low. Makes you wish companies would just pay them properly so we didn't have to fill the gap.

Wow, Sarah, that coin story really sticks with you. I started keeping a few dollar bills in an envelope by the front door, just for tips. It saves that last minute scramble. Mason_jenkins10 is right about drivers needing tips to cover basics. It's a sorry fix for a broken system, but it sure beats handing over a fistful of change. We really shouldn't be in this spot at all.
