Rant: Artisanal pizza's slow cook time annoyed me. Tasting a proper one flipped my view.

Used to think it was overhyped junk. The crispy crust and fresh toppings showed me why it's loved.

Yeah, the "waiting forever for a flat piece of bread" part is so real. I mean, I get it now after trying a good one, but I was totally there with you before. I'd see a 20 minute wait for one pizza and just nope out to a regular slice place. Sometimes you just want the food, not the whole experience. A quick pepperoni slice that's still solid hits different when you're actually hungry.

Seriously though, it's still just pizza. Waiting forever for a flat piece of bread with stuff on it feels a bit much. Sure it can be good, but the hype makes it into some life changing event. A regular slice from a good spot hits the spot without all the fuss. Don't get why people make such a big deal over it.
