Vent: That esthetician who told me to skip disinfecting my tools between clients

A girl I trained under in Columbus said 'just wipe them down with alcohol, it's faster and clients won't notice.' I did that for 3 months. Then one client got a staph infection on her chin after a facial. I had to report it to the state board and almost lost my license. Now I soak everything in hospital-grade disinfectant for 10 minutes per the label. Has anyone else been given bad advice from a senior esthetician that almost cost them their career?

Oh wow, @dakota_nelson43 that's a huge deal seriously. Ten minutes is literally nothing in the grand scheme of things but it can make or break everything. I've seen people lose it all over way less time than that. It's wild how a tiny window of action can save your entire career. Glad you got it sorted in time lol. That kind of lesson sticks with you forever for sure.
