Update: I chose to stop offering free skin consultations after a client in Chicago booked 3 times and never showed up, costing me over $200 in lost time.
Everyone said free consults were a must for building a book, but I found that charging a small $25 fee that goes toward their first service actually gets me more serious clients who value the time and advice, so has anyone else switched from free to paid and seen better results?

Charging that fee might actually push away good clients who are just careful with their money. A free consult is a low risk way for someone to see if they trust you before they commit to a big service. That $25 could be the reason a person picks a competitor who offers a free first look. You might be filtering out some serious people who are just smart with their cash.

Nah, I'd rather not waste my time on tire kickers.
