Had a client have a bad reaction to a peel during a treatment in my home studio
I was doing a light glycolic peel on a regular client, maybe 15 minutes into the process. Her skin started turning really red and she said it was burning more than usual. I stopped right away, used a cool compress, and applied a calming serum with centella asiatica. It calmed down after about 10 minutes, but it was super stressful. Has anyone else had a peel reaction happen out of the blue with a product you've used safely before?

My studio had a similar scare last month.

Honestly, that sounds like a pretty normal reaction to an acid. Maybe her skin was just having a sensitive day? You stopped it and fixed it, so what's the big deal.

I remember reading that some acids can react badly with certain medications. Ruby_rivera76 might be right about a sensitive day, but it's worth checking if she's on any prescriptions first. That kind of thing can sneak up on you.
