Am I the only one who heard a client say 'my skin just feels tight, not clean'?

It was after a basic foaming cleanser demo at the mall kiosk, and it made me rethink how I explain the post-cleanse feel. Do you get that feedback often and what's your go-to fix?

Tight feeling usually means the cleanser's pH was off or the surfactants were too aggressive. I tell clients to look for a creamy or milky cleanser instead of a foaming one if they have that issue. After washing, I always recommend spritzing something like a rose water toner or even just plain thermal water to reset the skin. That initial tightness goes away in seconds and the skin feels balanced instead of stripped. Another fix is double cleansing with an oil first then a gentle gel - it gets everything off without that rubbery tight feel.

Yeah, that's a common one. I switched to calling it a "squeaky clean" feeling and started suggesting a hydrating toner right after.

That squeaky feeling always makes me think I've stripped my skin raw.
