Talked to a guy in Chiang Mai who works from a rice field

I met him at a cafe last week and he said he moved his setup to a village 30 minutes outside the city. He told me, 'The internet is fine and my rent is $200 a month.' It made me question why we all cram into the same expensive co-working spots. Has anyone else tried moving to a smaller town near a nomad hub?

My buddy did that in Portugal, got a cheap place in a tiny town near Lagos. His work got way better without the cafe noise and constant small talk. Honestly, the whole "hub" thing is overrated if you just need a quiet spot and good wifi.

Actually Lagos is a pretty big town with a lot going on. The quiet villages are more inland or along the coast east of there. Still, the main point about finding a quiet spot over a busy hub is totally true.

Totally agree with alice336, quiet towns are a game changer.
