Switched from Bali coworking spaces to a $15/month local library card in Mexico City, and my focus tripled in 6 weeks.

Turns out the constant free beer and small talk in those Bali spots was killing my deep work, but now at the library in Condesa I crank through projects by noon and have the afternoons free to actually explore the city instead of pretending to network - has anyone else found a boring workspace way better than a trendy one?

Haven't you found the smell of old books distracting though?

Oh come on, that smell is half the reason people go to used bookstores. It's basically nostalgia in a paper form, way better than that stale coffee scent at the chain places. Plus if you can't zone out the smell you're not that serious about working anyway.
