Spent 6 hours trying to find a coffee shop in Medellin with reliable internet

I landed in Medellin last Tuesday and figured I'd just walk into any cafe and work. After hitting 4 different places where the wifi dropped every 10 minutes or the power outlets were fake, I finally found Cafe Velvet in Laureles. The connection there held steady at 50 Mbps for a full 3 hour session. Has anyone else wasted a whole day just scouting work spots in a new city?

Half the fun is wandering into random cafes" - man, I gotta disagree hard on that one. When I'm trying to get work done and the wifi keeps dying, it stops being a fun little adventure and starts feeling like a bad comedy of errors. I sat in one place for 45 minutes before realizing their outlet was literally just a sticker on the wall. Not a real one. Just a fake plastic faceplate. In what world is that a "gem" worth finding? I get the appeal of exploring, but six hours of interrupted work isn't discovery, it's punishment. You learn fast which neighborhoods have good infrastructure, sure, but that's because the bad ones burned you.

Nah I actually kinda like the hunt for spots. It sucks in the moment sure but you end up finding gems you'd never discover otherwise. I've been to Medellin a few times and half the fun is wandering into random cafes and seeing what sticks. Plus you learn fast which neighborhoods actually have good infrastructure. Laureles is solid but Poblado has way more options if you're willing to deal with the tourist vibe. 6 hours does sound rough though ngl, you probably hit the worst ones first.
