Remember when we used to hunt for Wi-Fi like treasure hunters?

Back in 2015 I was bouncing between coffee shops in Chiang Mai just to get a stable connection for client calls. Now I just plug into any co-living space and it's faster than my home internet in the US. The real shift for me happened in 2018 when I spent $80 on a portable router that lets me tether from my phone. Has anyone else noticed how much easier it is to find reliable internet now than even five years ago?

Man, that palm tree thing is real. I think this whole thing is just another sign of how everything in daily life is getting patched together in weird ways. Like, we used to just accept slow internet as a fact of life, now we're mad at a tree for messing with our bandwidth. You see the same thing with food delivery apps - everyone used to just cook or go get takeout, now people lose their minds if a driver takes one wrong turn and their pad thai is cold by two minutes. We're building all this convenience but it just made us less patient with the small, dumb stuff that still gets in the way.

Tbh the real game changer was palm trees blocking signals in Bali.

Haven't had that problem myself but I guess it depends where you're sitting. Seems like more of a minor inconvenience than anything that would really mess with a connection. Trees are all over the place in tropical areas, so maybe just pick a better spot next time.
