PSA: I tried a 'work from the beach' day in Bali and it was a total fail

I saw all the cool photos and decided to set up my laptop at Seminyak Beach for a full 8 hours. My screen was completely unreadable after 20 minutes, even in the shade. I got sand in my keyboard and the 3G signal kept dropping every time I tried to join a video call. I learned that some digital nomad setups are just for the 'gram and not for actual work. Has anyone found a spot that actually works for beachside productivity, or is it always a trap?

Honestly, is it that big of a deal? I mean @finleyf88 has a point about the heat, but maybe just work for an hour then enjoy the view.

Oh man, that's the classic dream versus reality smash-up. My version involved a single determined seagull who really, really wanted my turkey sandwich and did not care about my deadline. The sand in the keyboard is a special kind of hell that no Instagram filter can fix.

Tried the same thing in Tulum last year. The glare is a real problem, and a sun hat does nothing to help. My biggest issue was the heat making the laptop overheat and shut down. Even a good hotspot can't fight the basic problem of trying to work outside. Those pictures are a complete lie.
