Heads up about the public wifi at Chiang Mai's Maya Mall

I was working there yesterday and my VPN kept dropping every 15 minutes. The connection seemed fine for browsing, but it was totally unstable for actual work. I had to pack up and leave after losing a file transfer twice. Has anyone found a reliable spot around Nimman for this kind of thing?

Maya's wifi is a known headache for work (I saw a whole thread about it last week). Simon_coleman's cafe tip is solid, that blue sign place has saved me a couple times too.

Wait, have you tried the coworking space next to the 7-Eleven on Soi 7? Honestly that place has been a lifesaver for me when Maya's wifi gave up on me. Ngl, I walked in there once during a deadline and their connection was solid for hours. The owner is super chill about people staying too, just buy a coffee or a snack every couple hours and you're fine. Tbh I've had way less drama there than at the blue sign cafe, especially when it's busy. Might be worth a shot if you're stuck again.

Maya's wifi has always been a gamble for serious work. The signal cuts out right when you need a steady connection. I've had better luck at the cafes along Soi 9, especially the one with the blue sign. Their connection is more stable, and they don't mind you staying for a few hours. It's worth the price of a coffee to get your files sent.
