Got my laptop stolen at a coworking space in Medellin on Tuesday

I left my bag for 2 minutes to grab coffee in the kitchen area and someone walked off with it. Anyone else had trouble keeping stuff safe at shared desks abroad?

Hate to say it, but leaving your bag unattended is just asking for trouble.

Linda's not wrong, it's just a hard truth nobody wants to hear when you're trying to be chill. Maybe it's just me but I feel like the more you trust the universe with your stuff, the more the universe wants to teach you a lesson. A little paranoia with your bag goes a long way, learned that the hard way at a crowded music festival.

Wait @lindab49 is totally right though, I swear my bag has a built-in radar for finding the worst possible moment to get snatched. I left my phone on a table at a hostel in Bangkok once to grab a drink and came back to find a note from the thief saying "buy a better phone next time" which is both rude and accurate. Honestly, I've started keeping my stuff in those anti-theft bags with the locking zippers but the real trick is to just never take your eyes off it, even for a second.
