Was teaming up with micro influencers vs big names for 6 months
Spent 6 months testing big name partnerships for a client and got mediocre engagement, then switched to 15 micro influencers with 5k-10k followers each and our conversion rate shot up 3x. Anyone else see better results from smaller accounts?

The whole "big names = big results" thing is a trap, smaller accounts build way more trust because their followers actually feel connected to them. It's like getting a recommendation from a friend vs seeing a billboard.

Does anyone else find that the smaller accounts actually respond to their DMs too? I started following this chick with like 800 followers who posts about thrifted outfits, and she literally replied to my comment about where she got her jacket within an hour. Compare that to the bigger fashion influencers who never even see your messages lol. That personal touch makes me wanna buy whatever she recommends way more than any paid ad from a huge page.

Yeah exactly @haydenbutler hits it right. Big accounts just feel like ads half the time. I'd rather trust someone with 2k followers who actually replies to comments than someone with 200k who treats their page like a storefront. It's not even about the follower count it's about whether they act like a real person lmao.
