That $500 Facebook ad course I bought taught me nothing new

I spent 500 bucks on a Facebook ads course from some guru who promised he'd double my ROI in a week. The whole thing was just basic stuff I already knew, like setting up audiences and A/B testing. He didn't even mention how to handle the iOS privacy updates that wrecked targeting last year. I literally learned more from a free YouTube video a friend sent me two days later. The worst part was his 'secret strategy' was just copying competitor ads, which I could have done for free. Has anyone else shelled out cash for a marketing course that felt like a total ripoff?

And honestly the "just copy competitors" thing is almost worse than teaching nothing, because it trains people to chase trends instead of actually understanding their audience. In my experience, that advice might work short-term but you end up just blending in with everyone else playing the same game. The real value in any course should be helping you think differently about the problem, not just handing you a checklist of things you could Google.
