Our landing page test went sideways, then the data fixed it
Last Tuesday I ran a headline A/B test for a client in Columbus and both versions tanked, like a 0.8% conversion rate. I was half annoyed and half confused until I noticed the heatmap showing people clicked a photo instead of the button. Turns out the image looked like a clickable slider, so I swapped it for a static graphic and moved the form above the fold. Conversions jumped to 3.4% within 3 days. Has anyone else had a test fail because of a visual design cue you didn't catch?

Wait, that heatmap was the real fix not the data, the data just told you where to look.
