My stubborn take on retargeting ads, until the $900 cart abandonment study
For three years I told clients retargeting was a waste of budget. Last month I ran a test on a local home goods store in Austin, tracking 200 abandoned carts. We spent $340 on retargeting ads and pulled back $1,270 in sales within two weeks. The numbers were too clear to ignore, so I rebuilt my whole pitch around frequency caps. Has anyone else flipped their opinion after an actual split test, or do you still think retargeting is overhyped?
What frequency cap did you land on after the test? I got burned running the same ads too many times and people started complaining, so I usually keep it around 3 to 4 per user over a couple weeks. Curious if you saw better returns letting it run hotter.
