I was totally skeptical about email segmentation until I tried it on a small list
For the longest time I figured segmentation was just overcomplicating things, especially since my list only had about 800 people. But last month I split them into just three groups based on past purchases and sent different versions of a sale email. The open rate jumped from 22% to 39% and I got 14 direct sales in 48 hours, which was way more than I usually see from a flat blast. It took maybe an extra 30 minutes to set up the segments in Mailchimp, so the time investment was tiny. Has anyone else seen this kind of lift with even a basic segment?

Bet you could split based on email open time of day too.

Did those 3 groups include a control group that got the old flat blast, or did you just compare to last month's numbers? It makes a big difference because seasonal buying patterns can skew results by 10-15% easy. Just wondering if you proved segmentation worked or if people just happened to be more in the mood to buy that week.
