Why does nobody talk about how much a boring prompt jar actually works
I rolled my eyes when a writing friend in Tulsa pushed me to make a prompt jar, but here we are 3 weeks later and I've filled 14 pages with junk I actually like. My prompts are stupid simple, stuff like "a mechanic finds a wedding ring in a drain pan" and "write the same goodbye scene twice, once from the person leaving." The dumb rules matter more than the prompts though, no editing, 12 minutes max, and only one draw per day. I thought it would feel like homework and it doesn't, which bugs me a little. Does anyone else keep a physical jar or do you all just use apps for this?
