The barista read my short story draft over my shoulder and asked if the dog dies
I was working on a prompt about a lonely lighthouse keeper at the coffee shop on 5th, and she leaned over and asked if the dog dies, which is apparently the only thing readers care about. I changed the whole ending because of a stranger holding a latte, and honestly the story is better for it. Does anyone else test prompts on random people like this, or am I the only one taking notes from baristas?
