Question about a weird thing at the library in Bellingham

I was in the local history section last month, looking for old maps, and I found a box of index cards from the 1950s labeled 'Story Starters'. One card just said, 'The last person on Earth sat in a room. There was a knock at the door.' I've been using that card as a warm-up exercise before I write anything else. What's the most interesting writing prompt you've ever stumbled on by accident?

Found a note in a used book once. It just said "forgive him." Still think about that.
