One beta reader said my dialog all sounded like me, so I rewrote 8 chapters

I was at a critique swap in Portland last month and she flagged every single line with the same rhythm and vocabulary. I started writing my characters with different sentence lengths and speech ticks, has anyone else hit that wall where everyone talks like your internal voice?

Oh man, that critique sounds rough. Did it feel like she was reading your diary out loud or what? I've definitely been there though. My beta reader told me all my side characters talked like me, and once I noticed it I couldn't unsee it. I started giving one character a habit of asking questions back, and another one never finished her sentences. It felt forced at first, but after a few drafts it got more natural. Rewriting 8 chapters is a lot though, I hope the new versions feel like different people now.
