Just hit 30 days straight using a prompt jar

I used to stare at a blank page for hours, but after a friend in Denver told me to try a prompt jar, I started writing every morning. Now I pull one slip before coffee and have filled three notebooks since March. Anyone else find a simple trick that finally got them writing daily?

Honestly thought the whole prompt jar thing was just a cute craft project, but I tried it last month and it's wild how well it works. I just have a mug full of random lines from old books, and grabbing one forces me to start somewhere instead of overthinking.

My buddy did something similar with movie quotes. He pulled "you had me at hello" and wrote a whole short story about two people meeting at a coffee shop.
