Appreciation post: Hit my first 500 words on a prompt without second-guessing

I've been stuck under 200 words for weeks, always deleting and restarting. Last night I sat down with the 'abandoned telescope' prompt from last Tuesday and just wrote without stopping. Anyone else find a random prompt that just clicked for them?

Hey that's awesome! It's like the right prompt just unlocks something in your brain, and then the words stop fighting you.

Got to push back a tiny bit on the "unlock" thing. For me it's more like the prompt is a key that opens a door, but the words are still just sitting there on the other side. I still have to walk through the doorway and actually grab them. It's not automatic, it just makes the first step way less terrifying. Like you're not staring at a blank wall anymore, you're staring at a hallway you can actually walk down. But you still gotta do the walking.
