Why does nobody talk about dipping grilled cheese in applesauce?

I tried it after my kid dared me last Tuesday, and the sweet and salty thing actually works... It’s weirdly good-anyone else have a strange combo that turned out okay?

My 5 year old swears by ketchup on pancakes. Tried it once. Still can't decide if it's genius or a crime against breakfast.
