Showerthought: My $8 jar of pickled eggs is more comforting than any soup I've had

Paid $7.89 at a random gas station in Ohio and ate them cold from the jar in my car. My own family calls it disgusting. Has anyone else found a food that everyone judges but makes you feel at home?

I once ate a whole jar of pickled bologna bites in my car at a rest stop in Indiana. My sister still brings it up at Thanksgiving like it's a war crime.
