My microwave popcorn hack broke my $12 air popper last Tuesday
I tried to reuse a bag from the store in my air popper to save money, but the plastic melted into the fan after 90 seconds. Has anyone else ruined a cheap appliance trying to hack comfort food?

Got to agree with @piperb93 on this one lol. A cheap popper is better than no popper, it's just about knowing what not to shove in there. Live and learn, I guess.

I get where you're coming from @barbara_baker57 but I actually don't see it that way. Not everybody has the budget to drop a hundred bucks on a fancy air popper, you know? Sometimes a cheap $12 one is what gets someone started making popcorn at home instead of buying microwave bags. I've had a couple of those basic poppers last me years before they finally gave out, so it's not always a total loss. Just feels a little harsh to say it did them a favor when they were probably just trying to save some money.
