My dad's cold baked beans straight from the tin drive me nuts but he swears it's a camping tradition
I visited him at his cabin near Lake Tahoe last weekend and he pulled out a can of Bush's, popped the lid, and just started eating them cold with a spoon. He claims it reminds him of '70s fishing trips where they couldn't be bothered to heat anything up. Am I the weird one here or is this actually some kind of lost comfort food I'm missing out on?

Wait, you're actually defending the cold baked bean thing? Like you really think there's a world where straight-from-the-tin beans are better than just heating them up for two minutes?

Your dad's got the right idea honestly. Cold beans hit different after a long day outside when you're too tired to cook. My grandpa used to eat sardines straight from the tin on fishing trips and nobody batted an eye.
