My canned cheese and apple pie experiment went horribly wrong

I spent $8 on a can of Easy Cheese and a cheap apple pie from the bakery section last weekend, thinking the salty cheese would balance the sweet pie filling. It was disgusting, like eating a dessert that forgot it was supposed to be good. The cheese just sat on top of the pie and made everything soggy and weird. Has anyone else tried a sweet and salty combo that backfired this badly?

@kim963 Are you saying the person actually put cheese in a pie and called it a day, or was it more like some weird casserole situation? What was the cheese, at least?
