Just found out my go-to comfort food is canned cold chili straight from the tin
Everyone says it's gross and lazy but I swear the metallic taste and room temp texture hits different after a long hike, has anyone else defended their weird comfort food to a crowd that just doesn't get it?

Four packets of dry instant mashed potatoes, @oscarw83? That's honestly impressive in a weird survivalist kind of way. I can almost picture the crunch echoing in an empty kitchen at 2am. But hey, at least canned chili has some actual nutrients in it.

Oh man, I get it. My weird flex is eating instant mashed potatoes dry right out of the packet when I'm too lazy to boil water. Tastes like crunchy nothing but it's my little secret shame.

Tastes like crunchy nothing" is honestly the perfect way to describe it, but I gotta push back on this one. I've tried it once out of pure laziness and it was like eating salty chalk dust that got stuck in my throat for the rest of the night. You do you though, I'll stick to just microwaving a frozen burrito when I don't feel like cooking.
