I used to roast anyone who put ketchup on eggs until my buddy made me try his with sriracha ketchup last Sunday.

I caved and tried it, and honestly the heat cut through the greasy diner eggs in a way I never expected. Has anyone else been converted to a weird egg topping after swearing it off for years?

My dad was the same way about hot sauce on popcorn until he tried it at a baseball game last summer, now he won't eat it plain. Isn't it funny how we lock ourselves into food rules until one little experiment changes everything?

What gets me is how hard we push back on stuff like that even when we know we might like it. My buddy refused to put ketchup on his eggs for years, swore up and down it was gross. Then one hungover morning at a diner he accidentally grabbed the wrong bottle and doused his hash browns. Now he keeps a bottle in his desk drawer at work. It's like our brains build these walls around food combos and we get defensive about them for no real reason. I wonder how many good combinations we're missing out on just because we decided at age 12 that something was "wrong" and never gave it another shot.
