I swore off ketchup on eggs for 20 years until my buddy showed me one label at a diner in Akron
For two decades I thought ketchup on scrambled eggs was a crime against breakfast, mostly because my dad gagged every time I tried it as a kid. Then two weeks ago my buddy ordered eggs at this diner in Akron and I watched him drown them in ketchup, and he made me read the bottle, which listed tomato concentrate as the first thing, no high fructose corn syrup at all. He said his grandma from West Virginia did the same thing with fried eggs and called it red gravy, and honestly that one bite tasted like a Sunday morning at her table even though I never met her. Now I keep a bottle in the fridge just for eggs and my dad thinks I have lost my mind. What is the one food combo your family swears by that outsiders find flat out nasty?
