Hot take: Canned tuna and crackers beats grilled cheese every time when you're actually sick

I spent 3 days last week knocked out with the flu and my roommate kept offering me grilled cheese. No offense but all that butter and bread just sits heavy when you feel awful. I cracked open a can of tuna with saltines and it was the only thing that stayed down. The protein and salt actually helped me feel human again after 48 hours of broth. Am I wrong for thinking this should be the official sick person go to instead of the classic?

My husband swore by sardines and saltines after his gallbladder surgery, swore it was the only thing that settled.

That sardines and saltines thing is wild. My uncle had his gallbladder out and he swore by plain boiled potatoes with a little salt. Wouldn't touch anything else for like two weeks straight. I remember him sitting there just staring at this bowl of pale potatoes like it was gourmet food.

Whoa, wait, boiled potatoes for two weeks straight? That's intense. I can't imagine staring down a bowl of plain potatoes every single day like it's a gourmet meal, that takes some serious dedication. But hey, if it worked for his stomach after surgery, more power to him, I guess.
