Found out my microwave popcorn habit was costing me way more than I thought
I tracked my snacks for a week last month and was SHOOK to learn I spent $42 on microwave popcorn alone at the Kroger on Main Street. That's like 4 boxes of the good store brand, I thought I was being thrifty. Turns out buying those big bags of loose kernels and using a paper bag is like a third of the price, and it tastes fresher. Has anyone else done the math on their weird comfort food and regretted it?

oh man, i did this exact same thing but with string cheese. i was eating like two of those huge bags a week and never thought twice about it until i added it up and almost choked. $60 a month on cheese sticks is a lot of cheese. i mean, i still buy them but now i treat them like a special treat instead of a daily thing. the popcorn math makes sense though, i might have to try that paper bag hack because my wallet is feeling personally attacked by my microwave right now.

Same thing happened to me with granola bars. I was buying the boxed ones at $4 a pop and eating one every day. Switched to making a big batch of oatmeal bars on Sunday and it saves me like $20 a month. Plus they don't have that weird waxy coating.
