Can we talk about cold canned soup straight from the tin?

I know it sounds gross, but hear me out. Last winter at a motel in Flagstaff, the microwave was busted and I was starving at 2am. I cracked open a can of tomato soup and ate it cold with a spoon. It was weirdly refreshing, like a savory smoothie. Is this a hill anyone else is willing to die on, or am I just crazy?

Okay listen, I have done this exact thing with cream of mushroom soup after a camping trip where we ran out of propane. It was 10 PM and I was too tired to build a fire so I just stabbed the can with a pocket knife and ate it with a granola bar. The cold creamy texture is actually super satisfying, like a weird dip for crackers or pretzels. Tomato soup cold sounds a little odd but I bet it works because it's already super smooth. I would totally eat it on a hot summer day when you don't want to heat up your whole kitchen. Honestly I think people just get scared because of the "cold canned" thing but it's not that different from eating yogurt or pudding. You are not crazy, you are just ahead of the curve lol.

Pack a spoon next time, cold soup straight from the can is a legit summer move.
