Tried writing shorter blog posts for a month. Traffic went up 40 percent.

I used to think long posts were the only way to rank. Switched to 500 word posts on my dog grooming site and Google started sending way more clicks. Anyone else see better results with short content?

I tried going all in on short form content for my own blog back in 2021 and honestly it tanked my traffic for months. Long form posts around 2500 words are the only things that rank for me in Google search now. But I think it really depends on your niche and what your readers actually want. For me the longer stuff builds way more trust and keeps people on the page longer. So I get where you're coming from on this.

Long form works, especially if Google's your main traffic source like @thea_mitchell20 said.
