Tried repurposing old blog posts for LinkedIn and got zero engagement
I spent a whole afternoon last week rewriting 3 of my best performing SEO articles into LinkedIn posts. Thought they'd crush it since they got tons of traffic on my site. But nope, like 12 views total and not a single comment. What's the trick to making content work on LinkedIn vs your own blog? Do I need to completely change the format or just give up on that platform?

Isn't it funny how something that works in one place just falls flat somewhere else... like how a joke that kills at a party gets crickets at a work meeting? The issue is that blog content is built for searching and browsing, while LinkedIn is more about quick hits and showing you get the current conversation. You probably need to strip the SEO thinking and lead with a hot take or a question people can't help but answer.

Same thing happens to me with recipes (of all things). I'll spend an hour writing up a detailed blog post with measurements and step by step photos, get nice steady traffic for months. Then I try to throw a quick version on LinkedIn, like "here's my go to weeknight dinner" and people just scroll right past. Turns out nobody on LinkedIn wants to hear about my sourdough starter (can you blame them?). You have to almost trick yourself into writing something that would sound weird and incomplete on your own blog but perfect for a quick scroll.
