Realized I was keyword stuffing my meta descriptions for 2 years

I used to cram 5 keywords into every meta description thinking it helped SEO, but last month I noticed my click-through rates were tanking on Google Search Console... turns out they read like spam and nobody clicked. Then I switched to writing natural, one-sentence summaries and CTR jumped from 2% to 5% in 3 weeks. Anyone else make this mistake or was it just me?

Oh honey, you are not alone. Did the exact same thing for my old recipe blog and wondered why nobody was clicking through my "best chocolate chip cookies, easy chocolate chip cookies, soft chocolate chip cookies" nonsense.
