Our team's content calendar got wiped on a Tuesday
We lost our entire Q2 plan when our project management tool had a sync error. I had to rebuild two months of blog topics and social posts from memory and old emails. The worst part was explaining the delay to our client in Portland. Has anyone else had to recover a major plan after a tech failure?

Man, "rebuild from memory and old emails" sounds like a special kind of panic. How much of the original plan do you think you actually got back? I always wonder if those rebuilt versions are even better, or if you just forget the weaker ideas.

It wasn't a total loss, just a corrupted file. The rebuilt version was definitely different, not necessarily better. You end up filling the gaps with whatever makes sense in the moment.

Read an article once about lost manuscripts. Said the second draft is never a copy, it's a new thing. You remember the strong parts, the core idea. The filler, the clunky bits, those just vanish. So maybe you don't get it back, you get the version your brain decided was worth keeping.
