My boss told me to stop writing short posts and it backfired

Last Tuesday my manager said our blog posts needed to be longer for SEO, so I padded one to 2,000 words. Traffic dropped 40% in a week because nobody reads fluff. Is there a real reason to write long posts if short ones convert better?

Did you catch that study Google put out about how people actually read online? They found most folks just scan for what they need, so shorter posts that get straight to the point usually win. Your boss might be stuck in old SEO thinking where length mattered more than keeping readers interested.

Right? People dont read they skim. Short and punchy always wins.
