My blog traffic dropped 60% after I stopped optimizing for featured snippets

I had this travel blog ranking for like 40 featured snippets until Google's August update happened. Now I'm stuck with a bunch of posts that are still good but nobody sees. Anyone else get hammered by that update and find a fix that actually works?

Man, I feel your pain. I had a food blog that lost almost all its featured snippet spots after that August update. What finally worked for me was rewriting my headers and bullet points to be more conversational and less like direct answers. Like instead of "Best time to visit Paris" I switched to "When should you actually go to Paris?" and added personal stories in the paragraphs. Also started using tables instead of lists for comparison stuff. Took about 6 weeks but I got maybe half of those snippets back.

Totally agree with you on the conversational headers thing. Did the same exact shift with my DIY blog and it was like night and day. Adding those personal little stories made the content feel way more real for Google.
