I finally stopped chasing every new content trend after a client meeting last month
Everyone in our Chicago office was pushing for short-form video, but my client, a local hardware store, saw better results from their detailed blog posts. Their 'How to Fix a Leaky Faucet' guide brought in 30% of their qualified leads last quarter. Has anyone else found that sticking to a simple, proven format works better than jumping on the latest hype?

I mean, that tracks with what I've seen too. We tried making fancy reels for a bakery client, but their old photo carousel posts still get way more saves and orders. Sometimes the basics just work better for certain customers.

The real trick is knowing which platform your specific audience actually engages with. Bakery customers might just prefer scrolling through static shots on their lunch break instead of having to turn sound on.

But what if the reels just weren't right for that bakery? Maybe they were too focused on trends instead of showing the actual cakes. A simple carousel lets people zoom in on the frosting details, which is what they really want to see before ordering. I've seen reels work great when they show the baking process or a quick icing tutorial. It might be about matching the content to what the customer needs, not ditching video completely.
