Hit 500 blog posts and my traffic dropped 40% overnight

I crossed 500 published posts last Tuesday, which felt like a big deal. Then Google rolled a core update two days later and my organic traffic fell from 12,000 visits a day to 7,100. Turns out half my older posts were thin filler I wrote just to hit a number. I spent three years chasing quantity and now I'm stuck rewriting 200 articles about basic stuff nobody clicks. My bounce rate on those old ones is over 80%, so the damage was probably building for a while. Has anyone else had a milestone backfire like this, or did I just pick the worst possible week to celebrate?
