Heard someone say blog posts are dead and had to speak up
I was at a coffee shop in Portland last Tuesday and overheard two marketing folks talking about how long-form blog content is a waste of time now. They said everyone just watches TikTok clips or listens to podcasts. But I run a small content team for a B2B software company, and our blog posts still bring in about 60% of our leads every month. We wrote a 2,000 word guide on data migration back in January and it's still getting shared in LinkedIn groups. So I don't buy that blogs are dead - maybe they just need better targeting and real value. Has anyone else seen blogs outperform short-form stuff in their niche?

Wait, are you telling me people actually think blog content is a total waste now? Because I used to be one of those people. Last year I was all about short video clips and quick social posts, figured nobody had the patience for long reads anymore. But then my team tried a deep dive guide on warehouse logistics for our manufacturing clients, and that one post has quietly been our top referral source for six months straight. It pulls in these detailed search queries that TikToks and reels just can't capture. Your experience lines up with what I'm seeing now, long form still works if you're solving real problems for a specific crowd.

Solidarity for sure. Nothing beats a piece that actually answers the specific, boring questions people are typing into Google.

Old blog post from 2012 about fixing a stubborn toilet still gets hits every single day.
