Finally stopped writing 3000 word blog posts and tried lists instead
Started doing 500 word roundups with 5 bullet points each and my bounce rate dropped by half after about 3 weeks, anyone else find shorter formats actually keep people reading?

Wait, is this actually a thing that works? I used to think long posts showed you knew your stuff, but lately I've been noticing the same pattern with my own stuff. I kept writing these detailed guides thinking people wanted all the info at once, but nobody made it past the first few paragraphs. Idk maybe it's just me, but seeing your bounce rate drop that much makes me want to try the list format too. I mean, I started doing short breakdowns of like 3-4 key points and people actually reply now, which never happened before. So yeah, I guess shorter really does keep folks reading instead of scrolling past.
