Editorial calendar in Sheets drove me nuts, but Notion changed my workflow in 2 months
I used to plan all my blog posts in a giant Google Sheet with color coded tabs, but keeping track of drafts vs published pieces turned into a mess around March when I had 14 posts in limbo. After switching to a Notion database with status fields and a calendar view, I can drag a card to reschedule and see the whole quarter at a glance. Has anyone else ditched spreadsheets for a project tool, or do you still swear by the simple grid method?
I gotta be honest, I went the other way. Tried Notion for about 6 months and ended up crawling back to a plain old spreadsheet. The drag and drop stuff looks nice in theory but I kept losing cards in weird views and spending more time fiddling with database settings than actually writing. A simple grid with a status column does the same job for me and I can sort it however I want in two clicks. Not saying Notion is bad, it clearly works for you, but the whole "tool changes everything" thing never panned out for me.
