Vent: My grocery bill used to be $200 a week for two people
That was back in 2022. Now it's down to $120. Started using the Flipp app to check flyers for our local Food Basics. We plan meals around what's on sale, not what we want. Anyone else cut their bill by switching to sale-only shopping?

Wait, hold on. You got your bill DOWN? Mine's only gone up (way up) since 2022. I'm honestly shocked you pulled that off. Switching to only sale items must be a huge change in how you cook every single week. I tried checking flyers but could never stick to it. That's some serious discipline right there.

Honestly it's less about discipline and more about getting used to a new routine. Once you build a habit of checking the flyer before you make your list, it just becomes how you shop. The flexibility comes from learning a few basic recipes that work with whatever protein or veg is cheap that week.

Riley makes a good point about habits, but it's not always that simple. Ross.kevin is right that sticking to it is the hard part. Life gets busy and sometimes you just need to grab dinner, not study a flyer and reinvent your whole meal plan. Calling it discipline might be overkill, but it does take real effort to change how you shop every single time.
