My grocery budget flipped after I stopped buying brand names
Six months ago I was dropping $140 a week on food for two people. Then my sister in Denver showed me her receipt, she feeds a family of four for $90. I figured she was lying or eating nothing but rice. So I tried it, just switched everything to store brands one week. Same stuff, same taste for most things. My next trip was $98, then $92, then it just stayed around there. The only thing I still buy name brand is ketchup, honestly. Saved $40 a week for half a year now, that's over a grand. Anyone else find certain products where generic just does not work?
