That neighbor of mine changed how I think about grocery runs

Talking with my neighbor Carol last weekend really got me thinking... she mentioned she only shops once every two weeks and plans every meal around what's on sale. She said she saves about $80 a month just by sticking to a list and not impulse buying. It hit different because I always thought I was being smart by shopping weekly, but I'm probably losing more than I realize on those little extra trips for 'just one thing.' Has anyone else tried stretching their grocery trips out further?

Respectfully, I don't think her system would work for me at all. I tried the two week thing once and ended up wasting so much produce because I couldn't eat it fast enough. Plus I actually like the quick evening walk to the store - it forces me to get off the couch and moving for a few minutes.
