Rant: Blew my whole grocery budget on condiments last month and didn't even notice
Last month I got home from the store and looked at the receipt. I spent $47 on just condiments alone. Ketchup, three kinds of mustard, hot sauce, soy sauce, barbecue sauce, and some fancy aioli my wife wanted. That's almost a full week of meals for us. The thing is, we had half that stuff already in the fridge. I just grabbed new bottles without checking first. Now I've got a sticky mess in the door and $47 less in my pocket. Has anyone else realized how fast those little bottles add up?

Wait, $47 on just condiments? That's wild, but honestly I've done the same thing. You look at each bottle and it's like five bucks so you grab it without thinking, then suddenly you're broke. Do you still have that fancy aioli or did it just take up space in the door like my half-used jar of mango chutney?

74 bucks is what I dropped at the deli counter last week just on pickles and olives, so I feel you @lindab49. That fancy aioli is still in my door actually, mostly because I'm too stubborn to throw out something I spent $8 on. It goes great as a spread for turkey sandwiches but I'm not gonna pretend it's worth the fridge real estate.

Oh man, that mango chutney story hits close to home @lindab49. I've got a jar of pickled watermelon rind that's been in my fridge since 2019 because I'm convinced I'll find the perfect use for it someday. My logic is basically "well I already spent the money so throwing it away feels like admitting defeat.
